FreelanceBidder — Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy describes how the FreelanceBidder browser extension ("we", "the extension") collects, uses, and shares information.

1. What we collect

When you use FreelanceBidder we process the following data:

We do not collect: browsing history, keystrokes, content of pages you do not explicitly submit, contact lists, payment card details (handled by future payment provider), location.

2. How we use third parties

Anthropic (Claude AI) — every "Generate Bid" sends the project description + your profile to api.anthropic.com for one-shot generation. Anthropic's privacy terms apply: https://www.anthropic.com/legal/privacy
Google — only if you choose "Sign in with Google", we call oauth2.googleapis.com to verify your token. Google's privacy terms apply: https://policies.google.com/privacy
No analytics, no tracking pixels, no ad networks.

3. Limited Use Disclosure (Google API Services)

FreelanceBidder's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. We use Google data only to authenticate you and never sell, rent, or share it with third parties.

4. Data retention

Account data is kept while your account is active.
AI generation logs (bid text, tokens, confidence) — kept for 90 days, then aggregated/anonymized.
Profile cache — refreshed each time you parse; old versions overwritten.
You can delete your account by emailing [email protected]. We delete all associated data within 14 days.

5. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Access — request a copy of your data.
Rectification — fix incorrect data.
Erasure — request full deletion.
Portability — get your data in JSON.
Objection — opt out of any non-essential processing.

To exercise any right: email [email protected]. We respond within 30 days.

6. Security

TLS for all backend communication
bcrypt for password storage
JWT tokens stored in chrome.storage.local (sandboxed by Chrome)
SQLite database on our server with restricted file permissions
We do not store payment card data — when payments launch, all card data flows through PCI-compliant providers (Stripe / LiqPay) and never touches our backend.

We never read pages outside the freelance platforms above.

8. Children

FreelanceBidder is not directed at children under 16. Do not use it if you are below 16.

9. Changes to this policy

We will post any changes here and notify users via email if the change is material. The "Effective" date at the top reflects the latest revision.
